When did you join the Planned Perfection team? I joined Planned Perfection in 2008.
How did you get involved in the wedding and event industry? I went to meet with the on site coordinators for my wedding at my wedding venue. I didn't like the ideas or processes that they suggested for my wedding. I wanted to do it differently and better, so I went online and started researching ideas. This was 17 years ago, so there weren't as many resources as there are today. I found some online courses that had a lot of great information and ideas, but I needed to take the classes to get the information. The deeper that I got into the courses the more I realized I really liked the work.
Favorite current or upcoming wedding trend? I love florals, so I am just in awe of all the hanging floral ladders, floral chandeliers, and floral garlands! They are so pretty and elegant!
Any trend you’d like to see left in 2018? Asking for cash, whether it's to help pay for their wedding or use toward their honeymoon. I just feel like it's in poor taste.
What is your favorite part of the planning process? I like getting to know my couples, it's great to make a connection and feel like I am truly helping to make their wedding day be all that they want it to be!
Best piece of advice for a newly engaged couple starting to plan their wedding? Communication and Honesty are SO SO important, not just in the wedding planning process-but for their married life!
Favorite reception song? The one you dance to in the back when no one is watching...Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline, B52's Love Shack, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama
Favorite flower? Peonies are my all time favorite!
When you aren’t creating timelines and alphabetizing escort cards, what can we find you doing? I volunteer during the school year at my children's schools often during the week. I also love spending time at the beach!
